Can you tell us more about you & Steinbach Montessori ? I'm intrigued :) Do you run the school but still have a full classroom set up at home for your own children?

It's such a fabulous space & I haven't been able to stop dreaming about it & the thought of having something like it! If only we had a spare basement ;) Sigh…

p.s Often it says that my comment can't be processed but you just need to try again & it usually works. Worth a try!

    Hi!

Welcome to the world of Montessori blogging (sort of, you were already blogging Montessori your other blog quite a bit I see)! I’m glad you commented on my blog so I could find you! I have the same questions as Amber of course…it looks (quick glance) like you are homeschooling Montessori but are TRAINED!?! Woohoo! Please comment on my blog OFTEN and let me know what I’m messing up.

I added this blog to some of my blog roll lists, Homeschool 0-6 AND to the Montessori Homeschool run by Trained Teachers list. Let me know if I have you up in the right places.

I’m looking forward to digging back through the Montessori posts in your other blog, your girls are beautiful :)

Sorry it took me so long to respond to you all, but for some reason I am not notified of responses, I will have to check that out!
Anyways, I have this classroom set up in my home, and am working on opening a Montessori school in the future. For now I am taking in a few children (my province allows 4 without a daycare license) and with all the rules that a daycare has to follow, such as not letting children turn on the water to wash their hands, let’s just say I think for a Montessori environment that would just not work.
I am making the best of it for now and enjoy that I can have this out of my home!
My website “Steinbach Montessori” is my way of advertising in my community. I figured that even though I can only enroll a few children, I want it to be professional. I am happy that since I only offer 2 half days per week per child that I can actually enroll more than 4 (if that makes any sense!)
Thanks so much for your comments. I appreciate them and will look for a way to find them sooner next time!
(and to My Boys’ Teacher, looks to me like you are doing an amazing job! Keep up the great work! You have 2 very lucky boys!)

Just found you through the Playschoool6 group. Beautiful room! I was wondering where you purchased your trays for the practical life area? I think that is what I’ve been looking for without knowing it ;)

    Smith,
Thanks for posting a comment. This is a new blog and a new classroom I just set up in my home!
They trays are actually small cookie sheets from a dollar store. I think it was called Dollarama. They are sturdy and easy for the child to hold the sides, they are also a nice size, I have been very happy with them! I also bought some shelf liner stuff from the same dollar store to line the tray so the items do not slip. I will post a close up picture for you to see!

Wow! I’m excited to follow your activities this upcoming year.

I was wondering where you purchased your Montessori materials? Did you order each individually or buy a package? Any details would be wonderful.

I’m planning on homeschooling my little guy this fall and we’d love to incorporate Montessori materials/activities.

Thank you for sharing your experience w/ us.

    Jaime,
Since it was too much info to post a reply, I wrote a new post about where I purchased my materials.
I wish you all the best as you homeschool your little guy this year! God Bless!
