Butterflies and homemade GOLD

Homemade Gold

For Work of art Wednesday we made these beautiful spring butterflies. We used a bingo dabber on a coffee filter and then sprayed them with water. We let the filters dry for a few hours and then used a tiny clothespin to hold the middle together. Aren’t they beautiful! You can see another butterfly craft HERE

And we did not forget about Saint Patrick’s Day…

They used green finger paint and gold sparkles for FREE art time. They called it their GOLD!
Isn’t it a beautiful work of art!!!

Since one of our readers asked if we had a Work of Art Button she could link to her blog, we made this one.

Feel free to grab this button and if you have a kids “work of art” you would like to share Link up!
Please put the name of the craft, not the name of the blog.

How funny, we just did coffee filter butterflies last week too! We used food coloring though. What we did was spray the filters with plenty of water first, then add drops of food coloring where ever we pleased. The water made the colors run into really cool looking spider veiny rivers. Then we pressed the filters onto white paper which not only dried them much faster than air drying but also transfered the colors to the white paper to make some more cool looking art! We've hung the butterflies all over our dining room now and they are lovely :)

Wow, your butterfly came out GREAT! I wonder if Washable markers would work? (so the colors would run)
