Love & Respect Giveaway (CLOSED)

This review is one that I am passionate about. I love social media, and the one common thing I see almost everyday is a comment about relational unhappiness. The sad thing is that I also see this in everyday life. Marriages are struggling.

My husband and I have been married almost 10 years. We recently had the opportunity to go through a DVD series with some friends.

Excited yet burdened about male and female relationships, Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and his wife Sarah launched the Love and Respect Conferences in 1999.  Based on over three decades of counseling as well as scientific and biblical research, this conference has given hope and new life to thousands of marriages around the country.

The Love & Respect series is not like any other marriage series I have ever heard of.

What is Love and Respect? We believe love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Research reveals that during marital conflict a husband most often reacts when feeling disrespected and a wife reacts when feeling unloved.  We asked 7,000 people this question: when you are in a conflict with your spouse or significant other, do you feel unloved or disrespected?  83% of the men said “disrespected.”  72% of the women said, “unloved.”  Though we all need love and respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue!

There were many times I laughed out loud during while watching the sessions. I could not believe how Dr. Emerson Eggerichs really got how I was feeling. He hit the nail smack on the head! There were also times that I was near tears.  Do I really do that? Is that really how my husband understood what I said? These questions popped up in my mind a lot.

The 5 disc box set has a total of 6.6 hours of dynamic teaching by Emerson and Sarah Eggerichs. Here is an overview of the contents:

  1. Why We Negatively React to Each Other (The Crazy Cycle) 84 minutes
  2. How a Husband Best Motivates His Wife (The Energizing Cycle Part I) 83 minutes
  3. How a Wife Best Motivates Her Husband (The Energizing Cycle Part II) 84 minutes
  4. Practical Application (Sarah Eggerichs) 64 minutes
  5. The Ingredient That Motivates Us Beyond Our Marriage (The Rewarded Cycle) 82 minutes

I am passionate about marriage. I really wish that every person could hear the Love & Respect message. It does not matter if you are single, dating, separated, divorced, or happily married, the Love & Respect message has something for everyone. Men and women will learn to resolve conflict and actually motivate one another. Even people who feel in a hopeless place will learn ways to respond to an unresponsive spouse.

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I often say “Marriage Rocks”. Although my husband and I still end up on The Crazy Cycle, we now have a better understanding of each other and our marriage has become stronger for it.  My favorite phrase in the series was Not Wrong – Just Different. I now hear me telling this myself daily!

I would love if you could all go to a Love & Respect conference or purchase the DVD set .

Marriages today face a mountain of challenges. Busy schedules, family-of-origin issues, work expectations, addictive behaviors, affairs and dwindling romance all conspire against healthy marriages. Often the mountain of marital problems seems insurmountable, prompting too many couples to give up and consider divorce as their best option. -Continue reading Here.
