Balance Base & Multi Match Sensory Discs ~ Guidecraft Educator Giveaway

Guidecraft is known for its wonderful educational toys and furniture which are used in many homes and classrooms.

This month I am thrilled to feature 2 Guidecraft products. The balance base, which is helps in developing gross motor skills and the multi-match sensory disks which are great for enhancing sensory perception.

The Balance Base

Guidecraft balance base : Mommy Moment

My 3 year old can not get enough of this balance base. Although she does not seem to find balancing difficult, she really enjoys rocking back and forth quietly. I find this intriguing since she is a girl who loves to talk. If I try to talk to her while she is on the balance base she tells me that she is thinking. I love that the she is not only improving her gross motor skills, but also finding the rocking to be a calming exercise at the same time.

The balance base can be flipped over for a different type of balance.

Multi match sensory discs

Close your eyes and try to match the number in your hand to what you feel under your feet. This challenge has provided hours of entertainment and sensory development for 6 year old Kate. She is quick to say “It is harder than it looks, you know”.

Toss a disc to the matching colored base plate. Play seated or standing, there are so many different ways to use the multi match sensory disks and the best part is that the children using them are learning through play. These multi match sensory disks enhance sensory percetion, color and shape matching, and fine motor skills.

Set includes 5 tactile base plated of different colors and 20 hand tiles ( 4 of each color) Base plates measure 11.75″ diameter. Hand tiles measure 4.5″ in diameter.

The Guidecraft Balance Base sells for $60 USD and the Guidecraft Multi Match Sensory Disks sell for $70. These products would be great in a classroom setting or a lovely investment for a homeschool setting.

I've heard that the rocking motion helps some kids learn better. I have a friend who is an unconventional teacher, she uses a variety of things like this to help those who fidget in their chairs. Even though they're rocking and may look like they're not paying attention, they are. It's very cool. Thinking outside the box!!
