Family Movie Night with Treasure Buddies

We are at the stage in our family life right now where we can pop a movie into the DVD player and enjoy a 2 hour movie as a family, laughing and discussing what we think the outcome of a certain decision will be or how the movie will end.

Since we try and do a family movie night, complete with popcorn or ice cream, twice a month I was excited when we received Treasure Buddies to review. My kids have seen the Treasure Buddies display at the local grocery store for weeks now and my son has been begging to watch it.

If you haven’t heard about this movie here is a brief synopsis:

Disney’s irresistible talking puppies – Budderball, B-Dawg, Rosebud, Buddha and Mudbud – are back in an all-new movie that takes them halfway across the world to the ruins of ancient Egypt.  With the help of some exotic new friends, this epic adventure is a treasure trove of pure Buddy Fun.

In a race against a devious cat, the Buddies and their new friends, Cammy and Babi, must avoid booby traps, solve puzzles and explore a mysterious tomb – all in search of the greatest treasure known to animal.

While this movie may have a few scarier parts for younger children, and while the talking animals may be a little “young” for the adults, our family really enjoyed the movie.  There was even some suspense and adventure with the movie taking on an “Indiana Jones feel”.  I was especially impressed with the  information that the animals provided about the culture in Egypt.  With the animals talking about the food, holidays and customs it was a great way for us to get a sneak peak into Egyptian culture.

All in all, this is another great Buddies movie.

I love the idea of a family film night with popcorn and all. Will try that during school holidays. Nina
