I have been blogging for just over 2 years.
Lately I have noticed more support for bloggers. There are forums and more Facebook groups popping up where bloggers can help and support one another.
I think it’s great!
But…
It did not take long before I started playing the “comparing game”. Of course there are always people who will get opportunities that you do not get etc, but that is not what I am talking about in this post.
What I noticed was that some people just seem to be able to do it all. No matter how many groups they are in they always seem to have time to leave nice comments on others blogs and they always have time to help others out. They seem to have time to tweet others when they have had a rough day and they seem to have that “perfect” balance.
I love people, I love blogging, I love supporting and encouraging others, but I found I was comparing myself to the other super bloggers who seem more gifted at connecting with other bloggers online.
Then I thought about it.
And thought about it some more.
I realized that every person has different gifts. I realized that even though I may not have time to comment on all my wonderful friends blog all the time, it’s ok. I realize that even though I may be in the shadows when it comes to some of these things, I DO have places that I shine too. When I actually get to meet others in person I light up. I love giving hugs, I love looking someone in the eye and telling them they are beautiful, I love uplifting others and encouraging them to dream BIG…and I need to quit feeling bad that that may not always shine through the same way online!
As bloggers we need to remember to focus on the areas where we shine instead of focusing on where we do not feel we measure up.
It takes many “stars” to fill the blogging/social media sky…none is ever the same, yet it takes all of them to brighten the sky.
Happy Blogging to my many online/blog friends…I love you all, even if I do not tell you often enough!

Exactly focus on what we are good at… makes life a lot easier.
It really does! Thanks for your comment Annie! {hugs}
Wonderful post!! I love – yes we all have our special gifts!
We sure do…why do we always seem to forget that?!?
Awww…you’re so sweet – you’re a star too
Thank you!
Oh thanks dear! You are such a sweetheart!
I love … “As bloggers we need to remember to focus on the areas where we shine instead of focusing on where we do not feel we measure up.”
I think this applies to moms too. Everyone has their own gifts. It would be a pretty boring world if we were all the same.
It really does apply to moms too, I needed the reminder myself, so I decided to blog it…if I felt this way I’m sure some others did too. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Hear, hear!
Thanks! I loved writing this one
Perfectly said. It is too easy to look at everyone else and see where we don’t shine. But it takes all of us together to make it what it is.
Thanks Rachel…I seem to need to remind myself of this often. But I just keep thinking about all the stars in the sky. If there was only 1, it would not seem very bright at all. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Such great post. I love that bloggers are more supportive, in every way
It is so true! I love that even though we are all different, we make each other stronger together using our gifts and abilities. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Thank you for that wonderful post!! I have been blogging for about 6 months and love it too!! I agree that there are some amazing blogs out there that I learn tons from every time I visit. Yours is now on my list…
Linda

You are one of my blogging idols!
Oh Brandy, you are so kind! I love tweeting with you…you are always a joy and I’m blessed to “know” you!
we all shine in our own way!
That is so true Jennifer…the key is to remember that
I love you too
lol
Thanks Jodi…I’m feeling the love!
What a beautiful post, Jody! You are one of the brightest stars in my sky and I’m so happy that I know you!
Awe, I think all the stars will be twinkling a bit brighter tonight! I am blessed to have gotten to know you Kathryn. You are an inspiration in so many ways! Big {hugs} and thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment!

Thanks Lynette! I appreciate your comment.
You know, connecting with other bloggers takes the whole experience to a higher level. For so long I was in my own little world, and now it is completely different. So much better.
Thanks for this post, Jody!

Awe, thanks so much! {ehugs} right back to you beautiful lady!
Love this post! You are a rockstar!
Thanks so much Stacie!
Well Said Jody! I once heard a sermon that struck me, the woman said “Don’t compare yourself on a bad day to someone else on their best day….you’ll be wrong”
I’ll have to remember that one! Thanks for the comment Julie.
Thanks that was a wonderful post that I think many of us need to hear! It’s hard to keep up with 12 FB Rooms, 2 Blogs, reviews, twitter, etc… There has to be a point we realize we don’t have to do it all.. Thank you for your wise words
Thanks for your comment Jenn! I try to remember, when I am feeling a certain way there must be others who have felt the same way…I’m so glad I wrote the post, it seems my assumption was correct.
Wow! I really enjoyed reading your blog post. When I blog I feel free to say what I feel and share what I find interesting and useful for others. I am so happy to see that you came to the realization that your Star is good enough and you are perfect just the way you are with how you blog. It’s really good to know that there is a community of bloggers and it’s also cool to be “really” apart of it all now. I have learned so much from every blogger I come across and how everything works together. I really enjoy sitting at my computer and working on my blogs now…it’s close to an addiction…but a good one
Thanks for sharing! You are AWESOME! God bless. -Selena
