Rock N Learn DVD programs help kids learn using fun music and exciting characters #Giveaway

Often times we are looking for new and exciting ways to teach our children new concepts in reading and math.  Rock N Learn has many great videos that help children learn new concepts such as reading skills and math skills using fun computer generated characters.

The first video we got was Sight Words Level 2.  Sight Words, a new DVD program from Rock ‘N Learn, geared for kindergarten and grade 1 kids helps kids learn to read.   The video starts with a group of lovable characters that help you to tell the story about the words.  Each chapter has a set amount of simple words or Sight Words that they are trying to teach the kids to read.  These are the most common words used in the English language and are words kids need to know automatically.  The characters usually break out into song and the lyrics are on the bottom of the screen which helps the kids recognize the new words they have learned.  There is an emphasis placed on each word that needs to be learned and the characters help remind the children to recognize the word.  The characters are very reassuring towards the children and reminds them to practice so they will be good in school.  Very positive characters for children.

Approximately 50 minutes in length, it’s most effective when kids watch again and again. Before too long, they are reading the sight words with ease.  A bonus section helps kids practice their spelling skills and focus on the shapes of words.  This program is perfect for parents with very young kids who appear advanced and eager to learn, as well as older students with remedial needs.

If Math is your thing, and your kids need help with multiplication, then the Multiplication Rap is a learning tool that your kids will love.  New characters help children go through the entire times table all the way to 10.  They go over each number all the way to 12.  Each number is done several times to help children remember the numbers and pattern.  Each number has its own rap so the children will hopefully recognize the tune and become more familiar with the basic multiplication table because we all tend to recognize something more when it is placed to music.  At the end of the songs we are introduced to Marko The Pencil.  This character offers children all the basics about math and multiplication.  He offers a basic breakdown as to how multiplication works and offers cool tricks (that even I didn’t know) to make math fun and easy.
