Throughout the year, one can tell what season it is just by reading the board outside your favorite coffee shop. During this time of year, the words Peppermint, Caramel, Gingerbread, and Eggnog can usually be found on the coffeehouse menu. But, indulging in these seasonal drinks can really add up, especially at a time of year when money really needs to be stretched as far as possible. Save yourself some green this year by making this beautiful gourmet-style Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate at home in a matter of minutes. Super simple and delicious, perfect for a moment to yourself during all of the hustle and bustle of the season. Merry Christmas from The Baking Beauties!
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons finely crushed candy cane, plus additional for sprinkling on top
  • ¼ cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 drop red food coloring (optional)
  • sweetened whipped cream
  1. In a small saucepan over low-medium heat, heat the milk and crushed candy cane until nearly simmering, stirring often. This will ensure that the candy cane dissolves in the milk.
  2. Add the white chocolate chips and stir until melted and the milk is steaming. Stir in the food coloring for a beautiful pink color (optional).
  3. Pour into your favorite holiday mug, top with fresh whipped cream, and sprinkle with
  4. remaining crushed candy canes. Enjoy!
