It’s not everyday that a local family wins an awesome contest, but for Steinbach resident Katharina Neufeld, a dream vacation has become a reality thanks to the Pizza Hut’s Don’t Open Me challenge.
This Fall, the Pizza Hut’s Don’t Open Me challenge gave visitors a prize winning envelope with a simple set of instructions:
Don’t Open until September.
Every envelope from the challenge was a winner, but there was a catch. It was only a winner if it stayed sealed until September when it was returned to a dine-in Pizza Hut restaurant and unlocked by one of the managers.
1,000,000 was in prizes was available including vouchers for travel, entertainment and even gaming systems.

I actually had two of these contest cards and I kept one closed until we went in the next time. Just kept it out of sight, out of mind. We ended up getting free cinnaparts. A family of 6 was in at the same time as us the first time we received a contest card. And gave us a card too, she said they wouldn’t be back in to open it. So we had two cards but I didn’t make it back in time to use the second one. I ended up opening it afterwards and it was a free appetizer. No big wins

I did know about the challenge and I got two envelopes. I had no problem leaving it sealed because I knew that every envelope was a winner. We didnt win anything big but I could eat their breadsticks forever lol.
