DIY Chalkboard Frame
I have been down and out with a cold for almost a week and I have pretty much lived in my bed over the weekend. Needing to get a post done for all of you lovely Mommy Moment readers gave me strength to venture out today 😉 I ended up at a local big box store and picked up some supplies.
I am quite sure that chalkboard paint is quickly becoming my new best friend. It comes in so many different colors and you can use it on pretty much anything! I have a lot of ideas on how I can use it around my house and I’m super excited.
Today I wanted to show you something quick and easy, the DIY chalkboard photo frame.
What you will need:
- A wooden frame (any shape, any size)
- Chalk board paint
- Paint brush (I used a sponge brush)
- Chalk
The instructions are pretty basic, brush the chalkboard paint on the frame and let dry for one hour. After the first coat is dry, put on another coat and set it aside to cure for 24 hours.
Once it is cured you can add whatever saying you would like to your frame. This would be a great thing to have the kids do as a gift for a family member. Use colored chalk to make it really pop!
If you have the time, and want to get SUPER crafty, you could even make your own chalkboard paint.
