Spring break and Easter are just around the corner.
This is the first year that I have a child in school, so the break is something I get to look forward to.
A week of no schedules sounds too good to be true!
I made these flower cookies with some spring colors to remind me of the upcoming season.
Winter has been too long this year and I welcome any sign that warmer weather is almost here.
Make your favorite sugar cookie recipe:
Here is one recipe Jody uses:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup buttermilk
- Mix butter, sugar and egg. Add buttermilk, flour and then the remaining ingredients. roll on floured surface, cut using cookie cutters and bake in 375 degrees oven for about 8-10 minutes.
Then make a sugar cookie icing. You can make one usingconfectioners’ sugarmilklight corn syrupalmond extract, food coloring. For directions you can see the recipe on allrecipes.
