Taking care of you skin is an important part of being a woman. But finding a skin care product that is natural and leaves your skin feeling moisturized and rejuvenation can sometimes be a challenge.
Alabu Skin Care is on a mission to change the way YOU think about natural skin care. Check out what Maryclaire Mayes, Founder of Alabu Skin Care has to say about how Alabu came to be:
I never realized how drying commercial “soaps” were until I tried our handmade goat milk soap (I have learned most commercial “soaps” are actually detergents). I was finally able to get out of the shower without feeling dry and itchy or like my skin shrank. I was hooked on making my own all-natural soap. I started researching, reading, and learning all I could about making the best soap, and the more I learned, the more I was sure I never wanted to use commercial “soaps” again. I started to read the ingredients on commercial soap labels—yikes!!!
At first I started making it for my family and friends and giving it away as gifts. Eventually my husband, Dean, convinced me that we should go into business and sell our soap. That’s how Alabu was born.
Since then, we have continued to grow. We have now expanded from just soap to a line of all natural skin care products. My son, Hal handles most of the day to day operations, and Dean and I have taken more of a supporting role.
Natural continues to be at the forefront of all that we do. Our products have the ability to change the way you think about all-natural skin care, and as someone that cares a lot about the health of my skin, I can assure you that you’ll love our products.
I am not a fan of skin care products in general. I don’t like the way that lotion and creams for my skin not only don’t take care of the problem, but leave my skin feeling heavy and slimy.
I received a pack of Alabu products to try out. I loved them all, but my favorites are the Facial Moisturizer and the Lip Balm.
Living the the cold, winter climate in Manitoba Canada, I find that my face gets SO dry and flaky. I have tried other facial moisturizers and lotions only to find that they make my face look too oily.
The Facial Moisturizer from Alabu gives it that moisturized, healthy look and feel without the oily/slimy look. I also love that it doesn’t have a scent. I’m at times sensitive to different smells and odors of skin care products because they tend to be too strong.
The facial moisturizer from Alabu is odorless and colorless making it perfect for those of us that have sensitives.
Apply Alabu’s natural face moisturizer at night just before bed time and then first thing in the morning. You will be amazed how our truly natural face moisturizer makes your skin soft and smooth in a short amount of time.
The other Alabu product that really impressed me was the Lip Balm ~ Vanilla Infusion. The vanilla infusion lip balm is the same smooth soothing formula as the Original Lip Balm, but has the added bonus of vanilla-infused coconut oil. Even if you don’t like vanilla, I am sure you will love the vanilla lip balm. The vanilla flavor is not overpowering and in fact, I didn’t realize it was vanilla until I took a closer look. Alabu vanilla lip balm hydrates your lips and helps prevent against chapping. This lip balm left my lips feeling soft and moisturized ALL. DAY. LONG.
I have not yet had a chance to try out the Goat Milk soap but am excited to add it to my skin care regiment.
