You know you’re nesting when…

My oldest daughter was born 2 weeks early, and my youngest daughter was born 2 weeks late. Even though I was pregnant almost a month longer with my last pregnancy than my first, one this was the same…

I had crazy nesting tendencies before giving birth.

Here is a little humorous list that I’m going to call “You know you’re nesting when…”

nesting

You Know You’re Nesting When…

  1. You’ve baked 12 dozen buns before 9am
  2. You’ve assembled the crib, dresser, nightstand, and baby swing all while your man was in bed.
  3. The laundry is actually ALL washed, folded and put away.
  4. You’re pricing out what it would cost to purchase a new freezer for all the pre-made meals you’ve made – this week.
  5. You’ve used an old toothbrush to scrub the entire bathroom top to bottom.

Ok, all humor aside, nesting is a really great time in pregnancy, for me it hit around the 6-7 month mark. I could not spend enough hours in the empty nursery just day dreaming about my baby.

Sears is launching their Newborn Nesting Event!

This exciting promotion will be live from March 22 – April 4, and will be available in Sears The Baby’s Room locations across Canada.

If you buy $250 (before tax) worth of nursery must-haves (including cribs, furniture, gliders, and nursery decor/bedding) you’ll receive 15% back on a cash card! This cash card works similarly to a gift card, so you can come back to The Baby’s Room for any last-minute additions to your nursery until May 31! For those shopping in Edmonton, you’ll receive 15% off at the point of purchase, instead of a cash card – so let’s get shopping!

I wish the Sears Nesting Event was around when I was in the nesting phases of my pregnancies. There were items we really needed to purchase and getting 15% back on a cash card would have been perfect to have on hand when our daughter arrived and we needed those last minute things.

Isn’t that Baby’s First® Back To Nature 5 Piece Crib Bedding set adorable? I just love the little birds – and I would have LOVED that set for my girls!

Of course this more feminine owl baby nursery is beautiful too!

So tell me, what are some of the things you did when you were in the nesting phase of pregnancy?

I was so tired I slept 80% of the time in the final couple months, good thing I had gotten most of the stuff we needed by that point.

Wow, I wish I could have slept that much. I was uncomfortable at the end. Good thing you were ready!!

I was cleaning baseboards when I was almost a week overdue. It's the cleanest my house has ever been.

I went on a dusting kick. I never dust, but while nesting I did the whole house!

HA HA! Love it...

You know your nesting when you have washed the floors on your hands and knees. You know your nesting when you already packed your maternity clothes into the donation bin and pulled out your before baby clothes. (although who is kidding you will never fit in them again.)

What a fun journey, it was on the cab ride to a Sears event we got to know each other. I loved this journey and meeting you rocked too!

It was so great catching that cab ride with you! Oh the silly things we do when we are nesting.

Oh my goodness - I would of gone nuts for that owl themed room. They really do seem to have much cuter/sweeter things now that I am done with baby days.
