DIY Musical Instruments with Green Kid Crafts

My 7 year old daughter had a blast making these DIY Musical Instruments from Green Kid Crafts.
If I’d ask her what things she really liked, crafts, music and caring for the environment would be at the top of her list.

DIY musical instruments for kids

Most children love music, and being exposed to music is great for kids. Not all families can afford to have their children in music lessons, but playing music and making your own instruments can be just as fun.

Green Kid Crafts is an earth friendly craft kit subscription company based in the US that has just begun shipping to Canada. (yay!)

Kate plays the violin and loves everything about music. When she saw the theme of this months box she smiled from ear to ear. Not only was she thrilled that she would be able to make her own instruments, she was thrilled that the crafts she was making wouldn’t be bad for the environment – she thought is was especially cool that even got to use the box that the package came in as the base for one of her instruments.

As a mom I love that each Discovery Box is packed with more than one unique and engaging activity. This means that the girls can both work on a project – a project designed to foster a child’s creativity and confidence while developing their respect and love for the environment.

With Green Kid Crafts, each month, subscribers receive a Discovery Box with fun and enriching activity projects related to a new theme. Every month’s theme is different, but all are designed to engage kids with the world around them while the open ended activities themselves promote development, creativity and confidence.
BONUS OFFER: Green Kid Crafts is offering Canadian customers a free first box (value of $19.95) while supplies last; we’re just asking that they pay shipping costs of $9.50.
******I’ve been informed that Green Kid Crafts has exhausted the free box offer, but they are still giving new Canadian customers $10 off their first month at try.greenkidcrafts.com/canada.
Also, in honor of Earth Day they made a free, downloadable Earth Day Activity Guide available at GreenKidCrafts.com/Earth-Day.  The guide empowers kids to reduce, reuse and recycle with fun facts, games, kid-friendly challenges and up-cycled craft ideas. I’d love your help in spreading the word so that we can provide a resource to parents and caregivers to make the most of the holiday.

Really this article gives me completely a new idea about diy works. I have never thought about this idea. We always try to give our kids such toys that is meaningful. And they can learn, explore new things everyday. This idea is really creative and helpful.

[...] We are a very musical family. My husband plays guitar and I love to sing. Apparently it is rubbing off on our children as they all have taken an interest in having family music nights where we all sit around and sing and play music. The problem is that my children are too young to play a real instrument. These crafty instruments are the perfect fix for that! You can find the tutorial over at Mommy Moment. [...]
