Day 1 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration recap #DisneySMMoms

2 am came pretty early, but I wouldn’t change anything about our incredible day – here’s a tiny glimpse into our 1st day at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World Resort.

Thursday May 9th – We left our house and after 2 flights (barely making our connection flight) we arrived in Orlando and checked in at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  As soon as we arrived, the girls got to meet Winnie the Pooh.

Next we took the girls to our beautiful hotel room and had them nap for an hour since they had been wide awake since 2 am.

I really enjoyed the welcome reception and Epcot. There were wonderful people to mingle with, appetizers, great speakers and even some door prizes. The party did not stop there, next we had a family dinner – with amazing HEALTHY FOOD . This was put on by the #DisneyTryIt campaign which is a part of Disney’s Magic of Healthy Living which encourages kids to try new foods and activities – it was nothing short of fantastic!

Our 4 year old broke out into some pretty hopping dance moves – she was twirling and doing flips and we could not get the smile off her face.

We also had photo opportunities with some pretty amazing heroes -Wreck-it-Ralph, The Incredibles, Tarzan and even a special appearance from Mickey himself. Our girls were a little afraid of Tarzan, so our 7 year old offered to take a picture of Mommy & Daddy  – she took a pretty great photo and was so proud of herself. (I’m not one to force my girls to take photo opps, I loved that we still have a great memory because of her offering to take our photo)

The fun did not stop here – we all got to have private dessert party while watching the IllumiNations fireworks show at Epcot, Worldview Plaza. It was unbelievable – I can not describe it really, but I think the next photo speaks more than words…

She was in awe!

We got back to our room and there was a little gift in my room, it was a 2-Hour Power device from Rayovac, perfect for my new camera. What a wonderful surprise.

We put the girls in their pj’s and were just about to put them into bed when we heard some magical music and looked out our window – there was a beautiful light show right on the water. We watched it together as a family and minutes afterward our girls were fast asleep – which is where I’m heading now.

Stay tuned for my Day 2 update from the Disney Social Media Moms Conference at Walt Disney World Resort.

Disclosure: Special thanks to Walt Disney World Resorts Social Media for inviting me to register for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration (#DisneySMMoms). As part of my own paid registration, I received for myself and my family 3 nights of hotel accommodations, 7 day park tickets, attendance at special events, and select branded merchandise. Opinions are my own.

It looks totally amazing and seeing the look on your daughter face is priceless! Last summer we had such a crazy day at Disney and were rained on so many times while waiting to meet the characters. That was my daughter (who was not quite three) only desire. We finally made it to the indoor center at Epcot at 8pm, waited in line for almost an hour and the fifteen minutes of photos with the characters were priceless. It made the entire day worth it.

I can't wait to see more! Have a great time and get some sleep! Thanks for sharing (even though you are totally exhausted!)

Thanks Faith, my oldest does not usually handle surprises well, but she was OVER THE MOON. I honestly don't think I have ever seen my girls this happy all day long. I'm feeling so incredibly blessed!
