I have short hair. Depending on where I am in between haircuts, the length of my hair can range from just under my ears to just below my chin. The last time I remember putting my hair up in a ponytail was probably over 12 years ago – long before my beautiful daughter arrived.
My 8-year-old daughter has hair down the middle of her back and her hairstyle of choice this summer is the ponytail. However, one type of ponytail doesn’t work for every situation — so here are our 3 Favourite Ponytails for Summer.
The High Ponytail
This ponytail is great for everyday activities and just to get the hair out of your face. This type of ponytail is the one that my daughter asks for the majority of mornings. It is quick, simple and allows her to enjoy the heat without the feel of hair on her neck. The Goody Ouchless elastics have no metal and help keep hair pulled away from her face.
The Low Ponytail
The low ponytail is needed on days or evenings when we want to spend time riding bikes or walking while the kids ride their scooters. With the low ponytail, my daughter’s helmet fits perfectly and we don’t need to worry about it falling off or not fitting properly. Of course it is important to have your hair looking great once you take off your helmet, so the Goody slide-proof hair bands fit nicely under any helmet and will help keep your daughter’s hair intact.
The 3-in-1 Ponytail
We use this version of the ponytail when we are spending the day at Grandma’s in the pool. With the hair pulled back 3 different times, fly-aways and lose hair stays in place and does not need to be touched up during the day.
Of course, the way to make all these ponytails come out perfectly is to use great Goody products like the tangle fix brush (which we LOVE after bath time) and the Ouchless elastics!

Sara and I still wear pony tails especially on the really hot days. Our hair is long and very thick so it keeps us a little cooler.

Ah yes, pony tails... I know I need a haircut when I start throwing my hair back in pony tails (like right now) because I want it out of my face. :) My girls also have long hair so I'm always trying to do their hair (to keep it less messy). We've tried these, though they prefer neat. And we love our Goody clips. :) In fact, their hair accessories drive my husband nuts, but I figure he'd better get used to it 'cause he's got a house full of women. :) I'm looking forward to the day when they can do their own ponytails' (or each others'). THanks for sharing!

Love all of the different looks. No girls at my house, but I use Goody hair bands as I have long hair and there's nothing easier than pulling it back, especially when I'm running around after my kids all day in the sun.

These are great pony tails! My favourite is the three in one! It hold so many loose hairs and keeps you cool at the same time!

My daughters use a lot of clips, elastics and headbands. Keeping hair out of their eyes is a must for me and for them.
