As a mom to 2 young children, it is important to me to put not only great-tasting food that they will eat on their plates, but also healthy and nutritious food too. But between school, homework and after-school sports, we all know that these important guidelines can sometimes (if not more often than not) fall to the way-side.
Kraft Canada understands and knows that you want what is best for your kids. So they have launched a nation wide talent search for our nation’s Ultimate Food Hacker!
What is food hacking? You ask. Food Hacking is a growing movement aimed at helping time-starved millennials cook tasty meals, using unexpected twists and elements of inspiration.
Food Hacking is serious business. It’s not just aimed at a foodie that takes pictures of their meal and shares it on Instagram. It is materializing as a trend – one that Kraft Canada is helping to amplify in stores and online. They want to show consumers that when it comes to meal preparation, it can be easy. As easy as 1-2-3: “Get these. Do this. Done.”
So who would be the perfect candidate for a Food Hacker?
A Food Hacker is: “Someone who creates a tool or technique that makes some aspect of cooking easier or more efficient.”
And don’t we all agree that anything that makes cooking easier and more efficient would be a benefit to everyone? Especially busy mom’s!
The Food Hacker Contest started on Tuesday, July 15 and will run until Tuesday August 5th. (Hurry! You still have a few days left to get your entry in!)
Simply Create a video no more than 60 seconds showing your best food hack! If you are selected as the winning finalist, you will be responsible for creating your own unique food hacks for Kraft as well as managing Kraft Canada’s Food Hacks social media channels. You will become the face of food hacking for Kraft Canada!

Here is a fast and easy recipe from Kraft Food Hacks for you try out tonight!
One-Pot Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta
- 220 g spaghetti, uncooked
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup halves cherry tomatoes
- 1 sweet onion, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup Kraft Extra Virgin Olive Oil Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing
- ½ cup fresh basil, divided
- ¼ cup Kraft 100% Parmesan Grated Cheese
- Bring spaghetti, water, tomatoes, onions, dressing and ¼ basil to a boil in large skillet
- Cook on medium heat 12 min. or until spaghetti is tender and most of the water is cooked off, stirring and turning spaghetti frequently with tongs.
- Add cheese; mix lightly.
- Top with remaining basil.
