TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE RIGHT PHOTO TO PUT ON CANVAS

Choosing the right photo to put on canvas can be a big decision. When we built our family room I knew I wanted a canvas print to put over my couch, but I wanted to choose something that would last a long time and I also wanted it to have meaning.

5 helpful tips for choosing the right photo to put on canvas

TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE RIGHT PHOTO TO PUT ON CANVAS

CHOOSE THE SIZE  – Once you know the size of the canvas, it will help you decide on the type of photo you will want in the space. Use painters tape to frame out the spot where you want the photo so you are really sure of the size ahead of time and you can better imagine how it will look in the space.

CHOOSE THE LOCATION – Maybe you have a photo of your wedding, or one of your new baby that you absolutely love – think about where this photo will look good. If you are looking for a photo for your family room, do you want one that is scenic or do you want family photo.

CHOOSE THE PURPOSE – Is the photo canvas there to match your decor or do you want a photo as a memory to last for years to come. Thinking about the purpose of the photo will help you choose the right one for your space.

DECIDE HOW SOON YOU WILL WANT TO REPLACE IT – If you are looking for a canvas that will last for years, you may not want blown up personalized photos that you may feel the need to update in a year or two. You may want to consider your decor and how the piece will fit in years to come.

CHOOSE WHERE YOU WANT TO GET YOUR CANVAS PRINTED – I knew I wanted a high quality canvas and I wanted to support a Canadian company if possible. I found that canvasndecor.ca had what I was looking for and it was also affordably priced. I was incredibly happy with my choice – choosing the right photo to put on canvas was hard, but now that I have it I love it and know it will last for many years.

My family room is a place where we spend a lot of time. We all love the outdoors, so I knew that I wanted a scenic photo, but I knew I also wanted it to hold some memories. I really wanted a photo that had my daughters in it, but I did not want it to seem outdated right away, so I decided to choose a photo where the scenery was the main part of the photo, but that my girls were also featured in the image. This photo by Victoria Koehler Photography captured everything I wanted in a canvas.
