BUNNY ON THE SHELF – A NEW EASTER FAMILY TRADITION

Family tradition is a HUGE part of holidays in my family.  While Easter might not seem like the biggest holiday for family traditions, we’ve managed to hold on to a few traditions in our household.

EASTER FAMILY TRADITIONS

COLORING EASTER EGGS

This Easter craft idea is a HIT with my kids.  They love making their own color combinations and waiting to see what the outcome of their eggs will be.  If you don’t want to use dye, why not try coloring the eggshells with marker or crayon?

EASTER EGG HUNT

This Easter family tradition has been a long standing one with my in-laws.  Every Easter gathering, the kids are almost too excited to eat lunch.  They know that after lunch is done, some of the adults will head outside to hide chocolate, small gifts like homemade playdough, and even coins filled with money.  Once the hiding of treats is complete, the kids spend the afternoon searching the yard, high and low to fill their baskets.

** Parents, a great way to make sure that younger siblings get their share of the treats and candy, color code the treats or baskets so that everyone has a fair chance of finding what is meant for them.

BUNNY ON THE SHELF

Are your kids still at the age where they believe the Easter bunny delivers delicious chocolate treats?  My kids know that the Easter bunny still isn’t real, however, they love the fun and make-belief of the Easter bunny, so they play along – it’s actually a lot of fun!

We decided to try something new this year.

EASTER FAMILY TRADITIONS

You’ve all heard of Elf on the Shelf, however, this year we decided to take a different spin on it and try out Bunny on the Shelf!  Our Lindt Gold Bunny has been getting into A LOT of mischief and my kids are excited to wake up each morning to see what their Bunny has gotten into.
