Making a birch bark canoe

For this week’s Work of Art Wednesday we made a birch bark canoe. Daddy and 4 year old Snow White went out on a nature walk to find some Spruce gum and birch bark.
While Daddy melted the spruce gum over a flame, I helped the girls cut out the canoe and add wire to secure it. The spruce gum is used to seal up the edges so that it will not leak!

I love making nature crafts with the kids! It is especially fun when we can do it as a whole family!

If you have a craft you would like to link up just grab the button for your post or sidebar and link away!
