Baby Goes Pro giveaway (CLOSED)

I had the opportunity to review a DVD called Baby Goes Pro.  I decided to review this video because I figured it would be a good way to keep my girls interested in sports during the long cold winters we have.

Baby Goes Pro is a dvd that introduces young children to sports.

What I like about this video is that the sports are introduced in a technically correct way. Emkei ( an animated monkey) demonstrates the proper way to play different sports including tennis, basketball, golf, baseball and soccer. The techniques are then demonstreted in slow motion by professional athlete. Another thing that I really liked was that the equipment for each sport is also introduced.

I decided to put the dvd on for the first time when we had friends over. The children (ages 4, 3, and two 1.5 yr olds) were excited at the beginning of the show. Since this dvd is geared for younger children I was not surprised that the oldest 2 lost interest about half way through.
The youngest children seemed to enjoy it, but did not stay put for the whole video. They played and every once in a while would stop to watch or dance to the cute songs.
One thing that I noticed was that the name of the sport would pop up on the screen but would not be said out loud.  The reason behind this is that the words are supposed to be read by a parent to encourage parent involvement. I think it would be nice to have the word audible, but I understand their reasoning for doing it this way! Be sure to check out Baby Goes Pro on Facebook

I strongly encourage kids to play sports and be active – I think this video is a good way to introduce proper technique to young children!
I also think this video is great for families who do not participate in sports but want their child to have the opportunity to learn about them! My girls have not watched the video very often, but I plan to pull it out for them in the winter when they can not get outside to kick a ball around!
