Field Trip

***NOTE: Winner of last weeks $100 Perrytech Montessori Giveaway will be announced later today! We had 134 entries- isn’t that amazing!***

The weather has been terrible! Rain, rain and more rain, so we took the first chance we could get and went on a field trip! We had so fun I decided to post about it for this Monday’s Montessori Moment!

We went to a local museum – and learned so much about the Mennonite heritage. We spent quite a bit of time in the windmill and talked about the purpose of the windmill and how it is used to grind flour. (My grandfather used to volunteer and grind flour in this windmill!)

The children LOVED the underground house – they couldn’t get over how small it was!
They loved seeing the old school house, but our 4 year old asked “Where are the materials Mommy? You can’t have school without materials”.
We also checked out the house-barn, the churches, and the old country store, but unfortunately I could not get as many pictures as I wanted because there were 4 weddings having pictures taken and I did not want to impose.
The children enjoyed looking at many old vehicles- there were about 15 of them.

Of course one of the highlights of our little trip was seeing the animals.

What a fun day of exploring and learning!

I tried putting my link in twice yesterday, and it never showed up. That's happened to me before too. That's why I've only ever linked up once; the rest of the time it hasn't worked. Do you know why it does that?
