What type of education will you choose?

Our daughter attended a French Pre-Maternelle program this year. There are no Montessori schools near us, so she will be attending an all French school next year. Since I operate a small Montessori Preschool program she “attended” my program 2 mornings a week and the French program 2 mornings a week!
She had her little graduation…she is the quiet girl. She stood in the back row and did not make a peep (even when they were all singing LOL)
Anyway, I am a proud mama and just had to share a bit from her special day!
Isn’t that chocolate graduation cap adorable!!!

She has learned so much this year! I love that she has a small class and wonderful teachers!

(I did not put pictures of her with her class as I do not have permission from the parents, but I hope the teacher’s are OK with me posting about them!)

We really thought and prayed about the making the right decision regarding the education of our children. We have decided to put them into an all French school. Dear husband and I are taking french classes and also hiring a French speaking “tutor” to read to our daughter in French and help where we can’t. This is a small school about 15 minutes away in a different community. We feel that since there is not Montessori school around that this would be a great choice.
Our Montessori classroom is always available for them to use as they wish and the great thing is that we can re-evaluate after this year and see how we feel!

What are your plans for educating your child?
Will they attend a Montessori school? For Elementary or all the way through?
Will you homeschool all the way through?
Will they attend a public or private school?
Or something completely different?

I would love to hear what you are doing and the reason behind your decision!
Please be respectful of each other and sensitive to others decisions. I just think it is great to discuss!

We have two Montessori schools near us, but they are full day five days a week for preschool and we feel that is too much time away from Mommy. They are very expensive. I actually taught French Immersion when I lived in Canada. I wish we had that for our kids here. We are a trilingual family and feel our only option for them to be trilingual is homeschooling. We're homeschooling Montessori.

We will homeschool until a better option comes along for us. There aren't any accredited Montessori schools near us; the public schools are very overcrowded, and the private schools are either too expensive or have too long of a waiting lst or both so homeschooling is really our only option at the moment.

Such sweet photos from the French grad program...love the grad cap treats...so cute!

I would love to homeschool but I'm afraid it's not a very common practice here in our country. She's just 21mos anyway so maybe I'll have about another year to scout for schools.

Already a follower/subscriber from Mailbox Monday but wanted to say Hi. Have a great week!

I'm a teacher and I think it's wonderful that you put your child into an all French school. I love that you are also learning the language so it will be something fun for your family to do together too.

We are a long way from making that decision, but we have been discussing it since before we even started trying to have a baby. My husband went to Montessori school through kindergarten and is a big proponent, but where we live now, there isn't one nearby.

I am 100% public school educated (through the secondary level, anyway), and although I believe I got a good education, I remember feeling unchallenged during primary school. I am leaning more and more toward homeschooling. I don't think it's for everybody, but I think I could do it. As a college educator, I see so many students who are underprepared for college, and almost all of them have been educated in the public schools. I like the idea of having control over what and how my child learns to make sure he is prepared for college and the world.
