Flower Lovable Lunch

Since our daughter will be attending maternelle (kindergarten) all day, everyday, I wanted to make her special food for her snacks and lunch.

Her lunch today consists of: (I will tell you what each item is by the color of cup it is in)

yellow: Hard boiled egg chick-raisin eyes and carrot nose
blue: strawberry jam flower sandwich on 10 grain (no flour) bread with dried apricot petals.
green: carrot sticks with humus
pink: cheese and bread (same bread) flower with cherry tomato center and cucumber leaves.
broccoli as added touch.

Then I have 3 snacks packed:
Top left: red seedless grapes, strawberry squares and flower shaped peaches
Top right: angel hair coleslaw with apricot star, cheese center, carrot stem and cucumber leaves.
Bottom: Peaches with yogurt and star strawberry on top.
Not pictured: a mini banana muffin and water.
This is my first time ever packing a lunch for school. Do you think it is well balanced? Let me know if you think it is missing something.

I am thinking about making this a weekly post (not sure what day of the week yet). What do you think? Would you like to see some of our Lovable Lunches?

I’d love your comments!

I know this is an older post, but had to comment :) My son started kindergarten last year too and he goes all day, twice a week (now three times a week). I would love to do that with his lunches!! I am going to buy some small cookie cutters and get to work! Great job :)

Thanks so much for the comment. I have so much fun making my daughters school lunches, if it makes her smile when she opens her lunch box it's worth it!
