A while back I made an exciting announcement. I was chosen to be one of the Guidecraft Educators.
The Guidecraft Educators are a team of Early Childhood Educational professionals who are committed to sharing their honest opinions of Guidcraft’s products. Every month the Guidecraft educators will post a review of one of the Guidecraft products, this month we are all reviewing the Nordic Rocker. Mommy Moment:
Montessori classrooms stress the importance of beautiful and welcoming items. I love child-sized products for children. The prepared environment, whether at home or at school, is one of the most important things in setting a child up for success. The Nordic Rocker is perfectly sized for a child. It is sturdy, yet allows the child to gently rock without disturbing others.
Just by looking at the photo below you will see how comfortably a child sits in a chair that is sized just for them.
Children who spend hours in awkward postures or in furniture sized for adults can experience muscle and joint pain that can distract them from learning.
The Nordic Rocker has become a well used seat in our reading area. Kate is learning how to read. Since we have introduced the chair to our reading area, she has been choosing to read more frequently. I’m not sure if this is because it is so comfy to sit in or because it is so appealing to the eye. I’m just happy that it is getting a lot of use.
The construction of the Nordic Rocker is superb. It took about 10 minutes to put it together, and I’m happy to admit that I did not need my husbands help for assembly!
Considering the quality, functionality and price the Nordic Rocker would be a wonderful addition to a home reading area, a preschool or elementary school, or a library.
