Get Reading with Kobo Vox #Giveaway {arv $199.99}

I love to read.  Love, love, LOVE it!  I could spend the better part of a day curled up on the couch under a blanket reading the day away.  I have always liked the feel of reading an actual hard copy of a book.  I’ve never really been interested in having an e-reader.  However, when I had the opportunity to review the Kobo Vox I jumped at the chance.

The Kobo Vox is a lightweight, compact e-reader with a touch screen that makes reading, playing games and surfing the internet easy.  It comes in 4 colors – Hot Pink, Lime Green, Ice Blue and Jet Black.  I received the Ice Blue and love it.

The Kobo Vox is so easy to use, and with Kobo Desktop you can not only search for book titles on your Kobo, but also on your laptop or desktop computer.  Once you have installed the  books onto Kobo Desktop they install onto your Kobo in your library shelves!

While I’ve mentioned that I was not a fan of e-readers, the Kobo Vox has changed my mind.  The screen is perfectly lit and can even be read outside or by a window with light streaming through – perfect for summer time reading at the lake or by the pool.  The extra-wide viewing angle of the screen makes it perfect for shared reading.  The main thing that changed my mind about the Kobo Vox was the book selection.  I had put 3 books on my Christmas wish list. Those in my family tried everything to find them for me, but not even the bookstores could find them and order them in.  Just out of curiosity, the first day I had my Kobo Vox I searched for these books and found ALL 3 – and for only $6 a piece!

The Kobo Vox has a 7″ screen and also acts as a tablet allowing you to search the web, check your e-mails, and update your Facebook and Twitter accounts.  With more than 15,000 apps, the Kobo Vox has something for everyone, including games for your little one.

We will be going away for our 10th anniversary this summer, and I always bring books on trips.  Since we will be flying, my suitcase will have weight restrictions so bringing multiple books along is not an option.  I will definitely be bringing my Kobo Vox along so that I have something to read, and to be able to keep in touch with my kids while we’re gone.

The Kobo Vox is sold at retailers including Indigo, Chapters, Best Buy, Walmart, Staples, Target and Future Shop and Toys R Us who will begin selling it.

My favourite mommy break is reading a book in the bath, this would be great to have to relax. Not to mention way easier than lugging around books tocamp this summer :)
