Identify the right toys for your child’s particular age or stage #FisherPriceMoms

Play is basic element in the life of a child.  This is how children start to interact with the world. Through basic interactions different objects children learn various skills that range from hand-eye coordination all the way to basic math.  There are lots of things to consider when purchasing a toy for a child and I’m glad there are resources out there to help me with those important purchases.

Often times there is a process involved in getting a toy for my own child.  As a mother I am often wondering where they are at on their own developmental scale and what I can do to help them reach the next milestone.  We all want children to achieve more and be more, so it makes sense that moms want to give their children toys that can help them learn. It is an amazing feeling as a mom to see your child full of pride when they accomplish something new.

Another thing that I consider when wanting to purchase a toy is reviews from bloggers and forums.  I love to hear what other mom’s are saying about a product and if this is something I should consider.  I realize that there are some opinions that may be skewed about one company or another, however I carefully consider what all mom’s say and listen to several other opinions before making any decisions.

Being a planner means I do not often make impulse buys and I like to do my research.  Once I have decided on what I am going to buy, I do my research.  Like all other frugal mom’s, price is always something I keep in mind.  I check on online, call stores or just hit up the mall.  For me this is also very therapeutic to walk down the aisles looking for the best deals at the best store.

Whether this is for your child or a niece, nephew or a friend, be sure to take all this information into consideration.

A great tool to consider is the Fisher Price Playtime Guide.  It is sooooo simple and handy (and really fun).  Simply pick the age of the child and all the Fisher Price toys for that specific age show up along with descriptions that will let you see how they will be good for the child’s physical, cognitive, social & emotional development.

I love this playtime guide from Fisher-Price,  it has made my life easier, and I find myself using it whenever I have to purchase a new toy whether it is for my own child or another little one. Once you check it out, let me know what you think!!

I thought I would include some questions for you to consider.

I used to buy Fischer Price toys for my kids 40 years ago. The toys they make are so age appropriate, and entertained my kids for hours.

Thanks for this! I didn't know Fisher Price had a tool like this to help me purchase the right toy for my child. He loves FP toys, too!
