I know that there are times in a mom’s life when we have just had enough.

 

You have seen me write about being overwhelmed and overdone. I’m pretty certain that most mothers have felt this way in one way or another.  I love my girls and I now have time to reflect on their first 12 months (and my first 12 months of being a mommy). I can’t help but think of the type of girls they will become, and I would still do what I have done, over and over again.

 

As a mother I can very vividly recall the first time my little girls sat up on their own, their first smiles, their first steps and their first words.  Yes I was one proud mama.  My girls mean the world to me and all that overtime that I put in made my mommy journey up to this point, a great experience.  To be there when they accomplished whatever firsts they may have or to just see the expression on their face when they were so proud of themselves makes this mmma beam inside.  While it is hard in the beginning to rock them back and forth in the middle of the night after hours upon hours of screaming, I would do the same thing over and over and over again because that first morning smile made that endless night just melt away.

 

 

Being a mom is no easy job, but I would do it over and over and over again because my girls are the future generation.  I am trying to raise independent future leaders of their own little world.  The first 12 months are hard, but worth every minute.

 

 

Have you heard about the Million Moments of Joy Campaign?  The moments where we as mothers are OVERjoyed, but also those moments when we are OVERwhelmed, OVERhugged, OVERdue, OVERtired and of course OVERstimulated! And all those other OVER… moments.

 

Moms are encouraged to submit photos of their babies with a one-line caption to really bring the photo to life.  It is a place where moms can come to celebrate, commiserate, remember and support by looking through (and adding their own!) photos of the good, the bad, and most importantly, the REAL moments of motherhood that we’re all experiencing… We can all have a laugh, a cry, and a sigh of relief knowing that we’re all there, together.
