Access P&G in Cincinnati

A few weeks have passed since I returned home from Cincinnati, Ohio.  I was invited to attend the Access P&G conference there and truthfully did not know what to expect. If you follow me on Twitter you will already know that it turned out to be a fantastic time.

I stayed at the 21C Museum Hotel – it was unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed at. I wish I would have visited every floor to see the different art. From animal artwork in the rooms, to the moving yellow penguin statues it was quite something – there was even body parts in white bathroom tiles.

The event started out with a welcome party hosted by Tide and Downy. It was held at the Contemporary Arts Center. There was great food (amazing ice cream – apparently Cincinnati is known for it), and a fun time of meeting up with some old friends and making new ones. In fact, spending the evening with Vanessa Lachey, the wife of none other than Nick Lachey, was pretty cool. She was really down to earth, and had fun talking about everything motherhood related like all the other moms in the room.

Yoga is not typically how I start my mornings, but since the opportunity presented itself, I joined a number of the other Access P&G attendees for a Yoga session. The stretching and relaxing were a perfect way to start a busy day.

Did any of you watch Top Chef? If you did, you won’t believe what happened for lunch. We had a cooking demo and lunch with none other than Top Chef Stephanie Izard! She taught us how to even make our own tortilla shells – I never realized how easy it actually was.

Much to the dislike of my children, we do not have pets. When my girls heard that I got to meet Pawl Griffin the VP of K9 Communications for Iams – they could not believe it. They thought it was pretty cool that there was a real dog at the P&G event. I guess I should not have been surprised that Iams has a real dog “spokesperson”.

I think everyone loves the nostalgia that comes along with seeing products from yesteryear. The P&G Archives Tour had me saying “Oh I remember…” over and over again. There were many products that were around well before my time too…do you recognize any of these?

There was so much more that happened at the event, but I’ll finish off with a highlight. The Day to Night Makeovers with P&G Beauty were so fun.

As a busy mom I don’t always stay up to date with make-up and hair trends, but being about to get all dolled up for dinner out was a special treat. I loved that I got to take home some of the products too so that I can re-create what I learned on my own – for date night with my hubby!
