Simple Abstract Nail Design

This week I have a review on OPI’s Nail Envy Nail Strengthener and a simple abstract nail design to share with all of you. It’s great to do intricate designs on my nails, but sometimes I simply don’t have the time for that so I need to tone it down to some designs I can do in a jiffy. This is one of those designs and I think most people could do this themselves on their nails.

Simple Abstract Nail Design

One of the things I like about this design is that you can pick whatever colours you like. I was actually trying to do a different design, which didn’t turn out, and ended up painting with the colours I had picked out for the other design. I started with a base colour of OPI’s My Dogsled is a Hybrid. I then took three different shades of brown and layered them on my nails, lightest to darkest, finishing with a black on top. To make the lines, simply wipe most of the polish off the brush and then swipe it across your nail in a bit of a curve. Lastly, I added the white dots to the base of my nails. I used my dotting tools but a toothpick works just as well for these. I’d recommend making the middle dots slightly larger and then make them smaller as you extend out to the middle of your nail.

I also have a quick review for you on OPI’s Nail Envy Nail Strengthener. This is a great way to harden your nails if you have trouble with thin fragile nails that break often. Nothing is more frustrating than breaking a nail after just getting them done, and here is a great solution. For this nail strengthener to work well you should apply two coats followed by one coast every other day for a week. After the week is up, remove the nail polish completely and start the process all over again and after a week or so you should start to see changes.

Love the design on the nails and does the nail strengthener really work My nails always crack at the part where the white of the nail starts because my nails are so hard

I've found the strengthener has helped a bit but not a miraculous amount. I've been using it as a base coat under all my designs so if you're buying base coats anyways I'd say give it a shot and see how well it works for you.

WOW. That is a great nail design. At first I thought doing it myself would be impossible, but after reading how you did it, I am going to try. My nails are always boring. You've give me the inspiration to shake it up. Thanks Megan!! You have one more new follower.
