Where I live we definitely don’t have palm trees, so I have to do some imagining and some painting, to conjure up something that at least reflects the image we all have of a perfect summer vacation.
I saw a picture somewhere that looked a lot like these nails and that’s what I was thinking of when I painted my nails this time. The key to painting a successful palm tree is the leaves of the tree. Once you do the basic outline of a palm tree, the trunk and a few lines stemming off at a dropping angle at the top, what you have to do to take it to the next level, is add little lines that branch of the leaves you already have in place.
This adds a more detail with very little extra effort. Now your tree will turn from a few unrecognizable lines into a palm tree. I also add bits of white to outline the black whenever I do silhouettes, giving it a more 3D look. I hope these nails warm your day and help you visualize your perfect vacation!
