A DIY FRIENDSHIP GIFT ~ A BFF BIBLE with verses

Friendship necklaces were all the rage while I was growing up.  And they seem to have made an appearance once again.  You kept the necklace with one half of the heart, and you gave your best friend the other half of the heart.  When joined together the pieces form a perfect heart usually with the words BEST FRIENDS printed on them.  Having an item that connects you and your best friend is always a fun thing to have.

The TOOLS NEEDED are quite simple:

  • Silhouette, Criciut or other vinyl cutter/plotter.
  • X-acto knife or other suitable sharp cutting utensil. Also used tip to remove excess vinyl/foil.
  • Adhesive-backed vinyl or foil
  • Transfer tape (if you like)
  • Tool to smooth the design if needed

Simply purchase 2 Bibles (they could be the same OR different colours.  These white and pink Bibles are super adorable!)

Take a highlighter and highlight some key friendship verses in the Bible for your friend.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. ~ Philipians 4:13

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. ~ John 15:13

You can use gold foil or gold vinyl. This gold foil is adhesive backed, and you’ll need to weed away the excess just like you do with vinyl. The difference between gold foil and gold vinyl is that the foil is thicker.

Best Friend Template

You can use transfer tape to lift and apply the design or you can easily peel up the heart pieces and place them one at a time on the bibles.  Then press from one direction to smooth it out.

Make this DIY Friendship gift for a birthday gift, baptism gift or even a “just because” gift.
