GOING HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS? DON’T FORGET THESE IMPORTANT ITEMS!

The Holidays are upon us and many people are packing their bags and getting ready to go home for the holidays and spend Christmas with their families. The kids will be super excited to see their cousins, grandma or whoever you are planning to visit, so they will probably forget a few important items.

With the hustle and bustle, and stress of the holiday season, it can be easy to forget the things that you need to pack to bring home with you and your family. It is a great idea to make a checklist to use while you are packing and before you leave on your trip to make sure you don’t forget those important things!

GIFTS

This may seem like an obvious suggestion but in all reality, it can be easy to forget to pack the gifts. You don’t want to put all that thought into presents and then discover you have left them behind, especially if the trip home is a long one.

MEDICATION

Do not forget to pack any medications, vitamins or probiotics that you or your family must take daily. It can be hard to get prescriptions transferred to another pharmacy, and expensive.  It’s also a great idea to put your medications in a medication lock box to protect them from little hands.

CHARGERS

It is so common to arrive at your destination with a drained phone or tablet batteries and no chargers. Make sure to put the chargers in a special, easy to access place in your bag so you can get them out as needed.

If you are driving to your destination, chances are your children will be using their devices in the car, so ensuring you have a car charger handy is also a great idea.

CAMERA

While many people are using their device’s camera to take pictures, there are still those who prefer to use a traditional camera. If you are hoping to get great family photos it is a good idea to make sure that you pack your camera and any accessories that come with it.

SUITABLE CLOTHING

Make sure that you are packing for the climate of your destination and prepare for anything. If you are going somewhere that gets a lot of snow, pack mittens, hats, boots and any other winter attire that you or your children may need. Chances are they will be invited to join their cousin at the tobogganing hill and you don’t want to have to say no because they aren’t prepared with weather appropriate clothes!

HEADPHONES

Don’t forget to pack a few sets of headphones for the kids to use with their devices during your travel. This will allow them to play their games or listen to their music without you having to hear it.

COMFORT ITEMS

If you are traveling with your kids, bringing along their favorite stuffed animal and blanket will help make sleeping in a hotel or strange home a lot easier.

There are many ways to prepare for your trip home this Holiday season. Writing out a list is a really great way to ensure you stay organized and don’t leave anything important behind.

Chargers is one thing we are always running back to the house for! Always forgetful about those. My daughter always brings a soft blanket with her too so she feels like she has a little piece of home.
