ROAD TRIP TIPS FOR LARGE FAMILIES

Taking a road trip with your family can be such an amazing experience. It is a great way to create memories and spend time together.

Is it possible though, to take a road trip when you have a big family? The truth? Having a large family shouldn’t discourage you from taking a road trip. It is more than possible. In fact, it might even be more fun!

PLAN STOPS AHEAD OF TIME

What is the likelihood that you can show up at a restaurant with a large group, and be seated right away? Minimal. Call around to places that are likely to be a pit stop on your road trip route to ensure that they can accommodate you and try to estimate your ETA. If you can make reservations, do it.

The same goes for any accommodations you may need on your route. If you are planning a stopover at a hotel, you will want to book before you go to ensure that they can accommodate your group and offer adjoining rooms if necessary.

In fact, booking prior to your trip will give you the chance to use coupon codes and maybe even save some money.

RENT A VAN

If you have a large family, chances are your vehicle can accommodate everyone. While that is all well and good, that doesn’t mean that it can easily accommodate everyone AND their luggage comfortably. It may be a good idea to rent a larger van that can then allow for more leg room. The more comfortable your family is, the less complaining you will be subjected to. Win!

HAVE A SURVIVAL PACK

It is a great idea to pack a road trip survival pack for everyone that will be participating in this large family expedition. Not only will this help to ensure that they don’t get bored but it will also minimize any woes those joining you will have.

Taking a road trip with a large family can be an amazing experience full of love and memories, but you want to make sure that the stories that follow are positive ones. As long as everything is planned correctly, everyone is comfortable and no one is bored, your large family road trip will be the talk of the family for a long time to come!
