Fête des neiges de Montreal – The perfect event for a family winter getaway!

If you are looking for a fun-filled family winter getaway that the whole family will enjoy, you’ve got to consider Fête des Neiges de Montreal. Our family went to Montreal for a long weekend getaway and we spent a full day at this popular family-oriented winter event.

This outdoor family event takes place over 4 weekends in winter and it’s an experience that has the whole family enjoying the great Canadian outdoors.

Fête des Neiges de Montreal – perfect for a family winter getaway!

With over 20 fun-filled activities, many shows, fantastic food and a beautiful atmosphere, you have the setting to make some incredible memories with your family. You may even bump into the entertaining mascots – you can’t miss them in their flamboyant costumes and welcoming, jovial presence.

Most of the activities are free of charge but there is the option to purchase an ACCROPASSE if you have a family that loves adventure.

The ACCROPASSE ($50 for families and good for all 4 weekends)  includes the Ice Slides, the Zip-Line and the Big Jump and as an extra bonus, it also includes FREE access to the Montreal Biosphere, the Environment Museum, and the Stewart Museum.

Our family was up for some adventure, so the ACCROPASSE was a good option for us.

The big jump – a 50-foot high tower that you climb up and then jump off was the scariest thing my kids have ever done – what an adrenalin rush!

The Zip-line was a lot of fun too, a favorite for my girls, they loved that they could go together on three lines with their dad all at the same time!

TIP: If your family wants to take in the Big Jump and Zip-line, go early to reserve your times.

In true lumberjack spirit, my husband and I even tried our hands at axe throwing.

As the sun started to go down, the atmosphere stayed alive. Music and laughter filled the air, string lights twinkled over-top of the maple trees, and the delicious aroma from the food trucks brought people together.

Warming fires were surrounded by families enjoying their mug of hot chocolate or mulled wine.

The Fête des Neiges is a true winter experience for any family – if you are looking to immerse yourself in a truly fun-filled winter event, plan a weekend getaway with your family to Montreal.
