Do you ever think being a parent can cause a complete overload?
That we are like computers on the verge of crashing because of all the info we are trying to store to teach our kids every possible thing we want them to know? Instead of the blue screen of death we find ourselves having this permanent look of utter confusion stuck on our faces for eternity.
Here is what perplexes me the most.
The When’s
- When to switch to sippy cups.
- When to start solids.
- When to potty train.
- When to let them get their ears pierced.
- When to let them have their first sleep over with friends.
- When to have “The Talk”.
- When to let them date!!
Ok, I know I am getting way ahead of myself. My oldest is only seven, but aren’t all of these decisions enough to completely stress a parent out?
The answer is yes! I do not have all the answers to the when’s. They are going to be different for everyone. We just have to trust our judgment when it comes to parenting and do what we feel is right in raising our kids. We are definitely not perfect.
Look on the bright side there is always therapy right?
What completely overwhelms you as a parent?

I think my travel mug looks like a sippy cup :)
I feel crashed on Friday nights. I'm so tired I am forgetful and silly. All we do is watch a funny movie when the kids go to bed!
Great post!

Now that is a loaded question! When do I feel overwhelmed? When don't I feel overwhelmed! I have 3 kids (6,4, & 1) and I am overwhelmed daily with the shear amount stuff I need to remember to do, let alone trying to deal with the "when's". It's nice to have all you bloggers out there to make me feel less alone in this journey that is being a parent!

I find HOW is more overwhelming. How to get my son to sleep through the night. How to get him to chew. How to get him to behaviour without losing my temper.

Sometimes I do feel overloaded. Especially when the house is a mess, the kids are screaming at me, and I'm exhausted. As far as the when's it is nice to be connected to so many moms in the blogoshpere and to be able to ask questions for help when trying to figure out the right time for something.

What overwhelms me? I feel like I should have a good answer for that, but I think I'm just always trying to work on creating the perfect balance. Clearly it doesn't exist (for me), because I tend to take on more than I should...but I want to create a healthy balance so that my kids will grow up seeing that life should be taken in stride...hmmm...maybe that's my post for next week!
p.s. sometimes I wish I could have a sippy cup!
